Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I think this is an average black crappie from Lake o' the Pines in East Texas.

That particular lake in Texas is a great crappie lake. There is a strong shad forage base and the crappie (both black crappie and white crappie) are able to feast. I've seen reports (and have witnessed personally) limits of both black and white crappie being taken with the smallest being 12" and the majority being in the 14-16" range. Unfortunately, I only get down there once or twice a year but man, if you can locate the crappie there, they always seem willing to bite something!
