Nice!
We have a "Shovelnose Sturgeon" here in OK. They only get about 4' long at most. And they're rare. I've heard of two being caught in the 4 - 5 years I've been fishing.
Catching a White Sturgeon would be a rush. A fish that may top several hundred pounds? Insane.
the guide told me that there keeper season was only 2 days this year, and the rest of the year is C&R. Not really sure why anyone would want to keep a fish like this one, but sadly from what i heard was that people poach these fish and they commercially fished them out of the columbia river for there roe, VERY SAD
Primordial beauty. People caught them where I lived in WI, as a young child. I'm talking50 years ago, and I don't know where these fish came from to get there, though. The ones in Oregon are well documented and they have quite a good thing going with that fishery. Catch and release only, if I remember correctly?
Nice, Chris!!
