This fish is a little different from some of the other trophy hybrids in your pond in that it does not have quite as deep (wide) body dynamic but has greater skeletal length. Huge fish!
I really believe that in order for a hyb to get to that coveted 2-pound mark that the fish needs to attain a body length of 12 or more inches, which is certainly a giant by any standards even if it doesn't make that 2-pound bench mark.
Have you caught/observed any other individual fish that are similar in body profile to this great fish...or...are they all shorter/deeper in body dynamic as compared to this one? Looks very similar to the fish from the trophy hybrid pond my friend has.
Congrats Tony. That's an awesome fish to show from your efforts. Now you just set your bar even higher.
Very nice and beautiful gill Tony !!!
that is the kind that screams out the drag and does what it wants
for an few nerve wracking minutes !!!!! keep up the good work... where is the lure or bait used ?
I like that scale!
"REEL" nice - if there is a 1lb 14oz fish there, now - then there has to be a bigger fish in the same pond...
CONGRATS TONY , A REAL BEAUTY IN ANYONE"S BOOK....
That's a bruiser Tony CONGRATS....
Congratulations Tony ,fantastic fish .Is it a BGXGS? What he hit ? Like Jim I'd like to know the length also.
Congrats on an incredible bluegill, Tony! A two-pounder is only a matter of time.
