Do you love big bluegill?

Another shot of the natural hybrid...A lot of redear showing, but I think there's some bluegill in there somewhere also.

I'm guessing male, Steve. Based mostly on the fact that most BG x RES hybrids are males.....near 97%.

You're right Jeff, it's a close call. My doubts come from the opercular flap, with its very faint red border, and while it doesn't show in this photo very well there were traces of vertical stripes on the fish's sides.

Great fish, but why do you say hybrid?  Looks like a full blooded Redear to me..
