Do you love big bluegill?

You may caught it on a #8 Tooty, and Sir Jeffrey also caught it on a #4. I caught a fry similar to this on a #2 bass wide gap hook with a small piece of fresh nightcrawler dangling by a thread. They may be small, but they have a mouth as large as their body when it comes to opportunistic feeding.
THANKS DAVID and that's a good motto to have ! I am really fortunate to have the ponds to fish I do cause Kent's in particular has great gills and crappies in it and not alot of shore runners there. The pond there has some big bass in it and I think they keep the little ones in check, and also I'm about the only fella that fishes it that takes quality gills home from there as everyone else turns em back.
I've done alot of that myself this year for basically the first time . Always kept what I caught because of freezer needs! As with Jeffrey I myself have had a stellar year and cleaned alot of fish , especially this past spring. Next year I'm back on the road to Iowa and southern Illinois , got to get some big red ears in Iowa and didn't go at all there this year...........
Thanks, Tooty. I'd say the same for you!
Here's my thoughts on this: "For every whopper, a hundred piddlers must be caught."
You might even call it my motto.
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOL CMON DAVID I'VE SEEN YOUR PICS !!
Looks like the ones I catch all the time.
Thanks JEffrey and nope I don't make anything for BOWFIN !!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't know for sure when season is going to end for me here and have already fished months past when I normally quit!!!!!!! Guess you could call me a fair weather fisherman and am lucky to be able to go on a whim and not have to worry about going to work. This coming weekend is supposed to be up in the 50's again with lots of sun and may give it a try again. Really getting tired of fighting the wind every time I go out though.........
In my region you can easily go to a # 4 and catch most if not all of the fish that hit.....but I fish a # 8 often with good success including Apex predators within reason.....Nothing I fish is a real good match for a 10 pound plus Bowfin....LOL.....hooks down through number 6 will get straightened in these rivers...just part of the make-up......
Nice gill keep it up guys............
