Thanks fellas. Maybe I was being a little pessimistic with this one. It's tough to see in the pic, but she was kind of bug eyed. Her weight, was down, especially compared to the other fish I caught from the pond. We'll see though, maybe she'll be alright.

She doesn't look that bad.  Fins look fine, no missing scales, eye looks fine,  just that downward angle that all live sunfish have when they are places on the ground.

maybe just a tough spawning for the old girl

 

one old fish i caught a couple years ago just under 10" was very emaciated and body was in tough shape ... looked like he guarde multiple nest in a row during the season. i stuffed a night crawler in his mouth and put him in the live well... checking in on him later the crawler was gone and then i repeated. later checking in on him once again the crawler was one third out of his mouth when i released him.
