thanks Gary!...what's really turned me around on UL fishing is the superlines... especially thin ice braids, Nano and Gliss. im actually getting great distance with 2-4# coated ice braids very thin and strong lines.
seems like we always catch a few decent sized preds with the presentations too. 3# ice braid held tight to a channel cats weighing at least 5lbs the past 2 trips. amazingly strong stuff. changes completely the UL style of fishing. to be able to cast the tiny stuff out there and has the strength to winch in the big ones when needed.
Slip, I'm intrigued with your UL style of fishing. These spring crickets are very cool looking, but with my gear I would never be able to cast them. What are you using and how are you throwing these? They look like flies for fly fishing.
Lookin good.
... thanks for the comments guys
i do think i have to expand on the color of these bugs. next color is pink and of course black will soon follow.
im really satisfied with the way these are producing now that the gills are coming in shallower than 6-0' FOW.
had fun with it yesterday... caught about 8 gills on it and one crappie... definitely proving to be a b.gill specific bait so far.
