I finally got out to fish it felt great and we know it don't take much to make me happy in the fishing department. My sweet sister in law said she would set with the wife if I wanted to go. I guess we knew what that answer would be. I didn't catch lots of fish but I caught some quality fish. That don't mean I didn't catch any small ones cause I did. I threw them back. I did get about 6 P seeds probably between 6 and 7 inches that I wish I had kept and put in my pond, to me they are the most beautiful fresh water fish going. I used 1 ½ inch white pearl twister tail with a red 1/16 oz head. I caught total of 6 crappies,4 large mouth bass, 6 punkin seeds, 3 bluegills, 1 rock bass and 8 small perch. Had a blast. Have a good day and GOOD FISHIN..

I go deep adjacent to where the fish were spawning earlier in the Summer. The bite often slows but you can normally catch some nice fish. I often try to find a slope and work live bait up the slope. Good yields from night crawlers with that technique....All of my fishing is done in river systems down here in Carolina...Deep water is normally close by...My fish are still on the bed but I must cover miles of shoreline to locate them.....

Thanks for the question Chuck. I personally don't like circle hooks for Gills. I use a long shank # 4 Eagle Claw relentlessly and believe in changing the hook every 25 fish or so. However, I have experienced good results on catfish with circle hooks.

Good evening Chuck. So your the guru on Lake St Clair. I haven't fished it in many years when I did I was strictly fishing for bass. Usually fished the St Clair river what beautiful water. We caught Rock bass, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth bass and Pike. I remember it was a very good fishery and I hope one day I can get over that way again. If I do get to go again it will be strictly for panfish, Bluegills and crappies. Haven't ever fished for then there but I know they are there. Chuck enjoy and GOOD FISHIN.......

Welcome aboard Chuck. I know you'll enjoy the tons of information that goes through this site. Feel free to partake and add thats what we are all about gaining knowledge. I have fish Lake St Clair many years ago mostly for bass and pike. It is a great fishery and a beautiful aqua colored body of water with loads of fish. I urge everyone to see and fish in this great fishery. I'm hoping one day I'll make it back, God willing. Chuck GOOD FISHIN....
