Went out for a few hours this morning hoping to get into some decent 'gills and take a few home. It was not one of my better days...broke my leader and didn't have another leader or my tippet and to…Continue

Water temps remain rather moderate with the mild November nearly half over with local rivers in the northeastern part of the state remaining above 60 degrees in most locations with several locations upwards of 65 to 66 degrees.........Some fish are still rather shallow in two to three feet but what has worked for me this month is fishing intermediate depths of 5 to 8 feet on most creeks and rivers.........Veteran's Day brought me the enjoyment of catching tidal slab crappie which is a lot of fun on telescopic gear.......go get you some soon before the cold weather over runs the region.......Mother Nature often pays you back for the good days so we have trouble ahead............Good luck fishing North Carolina Style.....
Welcome to the group Charles.......look forward to your input on your efforts....
Taking advantage of extremely mild weather for August in Coastal North Carolina.......water temps were in the 90s as the July calendar was torn off to expose August.....many locations on the Albemarle have dropped back into the high 70s providing Fall like fishing which is extremely fun.......I taught my friend Joe how to doodlesock with a ice jig on a ten foot telescopic around structure and heavy cover and we have enjoyed a great weekend of bluegill excitement.........Here's a few doubles from the last couple trips.....
Friday was a good time........
Joe caught on quick and really enjoyed this technique........small # 10 Brobugs were the winner..........
Just a great weekend of fishing........you can't beat 58 degrees at first light in the middle of August in the south.........not everyone is enjoying this break but always take advantage of the lowering water temps late Summer and into Fall.......can be the last good fury in a region that doesn't support any ice fishing.........
Welcome to the group Chad.......
Welcome Gerome......
Steve; all patterens; and ideas;; greatly appreciated!! I use all kinds;; sizes of hooks;; depending on what I make at the time...
