Had a great Father's Day fishing with Pop and Dan down on the Pasquotank.......Had four sunfish that were in the one pound class....All fish today were caught on the Gronaw Grass Shrimp tipped with a live cricket....Water temperatures in the mid 70s and the water began coming back in as we were heading for the dock.....Forecast looks great so the fishing should improve daily from here......Three Cheers and good luck Fishing North Carolina Style!

Thanks for sharing Jim.....that cool snap pushed the fish out but they are starting to return shallow now.....If this week isn't a total washout, fishing should improve in the northeast region of the state....We put together a decent mess on the Perquimans yesterday but we worked for them....covered a lot of ground....

Good pictures, as always. Have fun this weekend!

My family got in to town yesterday and we got out for our first trip today on the Pasquotank.......Air temperature was 53 degrees as we headed to Bojangles for a Cajun Filet Chicken biscuit this morning.....Water temperatures were as low as 69 degrees in locations that were near 80 late May...In addition, recent heavy rains and subsequent runoff had the lower river stained slightly, these two factors accounted for a little slower bite...Temperatures are forecast to rebound into the high 80s and 90s starting tomorrow.....Water temperatures will rebound and fishing will bounce back.........We still had a nice 40 gill creel and a couple largemouth bass......We employed several methods today, popping bugs, live crickets and pink jigs tipped with crickets caught 99% of today's catch....We're working on our weekend plan.....big bass tournament this weekend on the Perquiman's so we'll probably skip that river Saturday......May go to the North River or Tull's Bay this weekend....Either way, we'll have a good time fishing in North Carolina!

Glad to be here!!!  To answer your question about the tournment last weekend, we caught 60+ gills just none large enough to put us in the money. 7.5 lbs for 20 fish. 10lbs won it this year. Computer wouldn't let my reply to your post on my picture for some reason but would here...
