Hey Ralph...that's a great fish from Unicorn! Actually, it's a red ear sunfish. I think the DNR stocked them in numerous Eastern Shore ponds over the past 10-15 years. Great fish!

Hi all. I now live in Georgia, but moved here 3.5 years ago from Annapolis, MD. I still come back "home" and visit and fish. One of my favorite ponds on the Eastern Shore is Unicorn in Millington, MD. It is about 43 acres and full of large blue gills, crappie, chain pickerel, bass and some yellow perch. The picture on my profile is a 12" bluegill caught there on a popper.

I just retired and joined the group. I hope to make up for all those days when I had to work instead of fishing and plan to take my grandson with me. Any tips on ponds and streams in Carroll/Baltimore county? I prefer less fished areas.

Thanks

I am a little late showing up but to answer the question about favorite fishing spots, mine has to be the Pocomoke River. I am learning to fish a number of areas including some of the tributaries. Access is widely available in any of the towns along the river as well as from Shad Landing State Park.

I fish for bluegill, pumpkinseed, crappie, largemouth, white catfish, channel catfish, brown bullheads and other species.

Hey guys, it's been hot back east...any water in local streams deep enough to target? I like the Monocacy and tributaries.
