Do you love big bluegill?
i catch em at times in my crappie honey hole. most of the times ive found em around here, they've been abundant...like hundreds. last summer we ran across a creek that was going dry and caught a couple hundred in a day we transfered to a small pond so they wouldnt waste. we've also put red breast, bluegill, shellcrackers, pumpkinseeds and warmouth in this pond. weve got some wild lookin hybrids comin up in there. excited to see them this spring....they were around a half pound last year.
Thanks for the information Tomas..That's exactly what I've seen...We had one of worst droughts in years back in 2008 and I caught seven or eight nice limits of Fliers when the heat and low oxygen had slowed the bite for other species......I normally don't target them but I now have an interest in catching a "citation" Flier......By all accounts Georgia and the Carolinas have the biggest populations.....
