Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I started this group for people who like to fish for panfish in creeks and small rivers.  So, welcome everyone and good fishing.

I fish three creeks/small rivers in North East New Jersey and catch catch Stocked Trout and  Native Red Breasted Sunfish ,Pumpkinseeds,Bluegill ,Suckers,Chubs, Bullheads and Large Mouth Bass. I have caught Pickerel years ago in small sections of the Wanaque River also.I'm curious what species other members catch and where the waters the fish are. Thanks for starting this group Mark!

That's the way I started out and hope to never get it out of my system. Caught many a fish out of the creeks. The neatest thing about creek fishing is when you get a bite you don't know whats doing the biting there are so many different varieties of fish that hold up in creeks. It's just a neat way to fish love it.

Redbreasts, bluegills, chubs, suckers, smallies, largemouth, trout, catfish are some of what I usually find in the smaller rivers that you guys refer to as "creeks".

And it's all fun that just not knowing. We don't have red breast in my area but here we can add Crappie, White bass, white perch with lots of rock bass, carp and and an occasional toothy.

I forgot the rock bass and carp, glad you mentioned that Dick.
