Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

What state would you choose to fish Bluegill if you could only pick one?

We are fortunate to have members from all over this great nation...One of my favorite things about Bigbluegill.com is the instant connection with the people that love and enjoy the same things that I do when it comes to all things Bluegill from folks all over the country.....Many of us have also had the great experience of fishing several different states whether vacationing, traveling for work or as a result of moving..... If you could pick one state to fish Bluegill, what state would it be and why? Thanks for sharing and I expect this may be a difficult choice for some and very easy for others.....Again, thanks in advance!

I would like to hear from the new members.....look forward to your input....always love to read about the great Bluegill fishing from around the country......Chime in when you have a minute!

Well, I'm not a new member, but I thought I'd drop a line. I live in Central, PA, and I have access to smallmouths, trout and pan fish so all I have to do is decide for what I want to fish and where. I missed the spring bluegill spawn and the bigger gills, but as long as I'm catching fish I'm content. The small ones are fun, too, but I like to fry some. I'm going to hit the river this weekend for smallmouths and rock bass.

The Best,

Bruce

Last time I went through Central PA seems like we were lost the whole time but it was beautiful state to be lost in with nice lakes and beautiful rivers. Who knows I may try it again just to see how bad I can get lost again.

I'd be glad to be your guide, Dick, any time.

Bruce

Thank you Bruce I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever out you way that is if I don't get lost trying to find you.

Thanks for your input Bruce and Dick......all the guys I met in the Navy from Pennsylvania always talked passionately about the outdoor opportunities available throughout the state.....truly a tremendous amount of versatility................

Hi Jeffrey! There are plenty of good outdoor opportunities, which I'm sure I take for granted.

I hear you Bruce....I just hope my grandchildren have the luxuries I enjoy in coastal N.C. when they are big enough to take on the outdoors by themselves.....I'm sharing all my knowledge but without a place to go...so conservation and respect for the otudoors is a big piece even though they are pre school age......Enjoy what you have!

Hi. I have 11 nieces and nephews and I've taken them all fishing and a lot of them hunting. I still tell them as young adults that they have to get involved with conservation and preservation. They need to carry the ball once we're too old. I sure hope they're getting the message.

Bruce

Nicely put Bruce.....

well id have to say texas, it has some of everything from mtns to coasts and all in between. but there are other fish id like to chase that are not in texas. but for bluegill i will stay right here .

Thanks for the input Mark.......Texas has much to offer the Bluegill angler......
