Do you love big bluegill?
Hey Steve........Carolina guy here........I fish the Albemarle Sound and the associated rivers that feed it in coastal Northeast North Carolina.............
NENJ and SENY mostly .I buy two licenses. Will be going to 1000 islands/Chippewa Bay for the 1st time in September .Anyone got experience?
I fish one 4 acre pond in Southwest Alabama.
I fish approximately 50 miles to the north and/or south of the Mason Dixon Line in Maryland and Pennsylvania. However 75% of my fishing is done in small, shallow private and public lakes within a 25 mile radius of my home that are less than 10 acres in size. I am currently blessed with 30 plus such waters to choose from. 95% of my fishing is done from shore or wading.
I like to try to keep my Fishing holes as close as possible but I am not near as fortunate as you. I am tottaly with 95% shore or wading.
i live in ne ohio I fish berlin ,mosquito, milton, and westbranch ,mostly sometimes nimisilla, usually good gill fishing and decent walleye
I've heard good things about Mosquito...gills and crappies.
When you only have one freshwater lake… that's where you fish. Lake Wilson, also called Wahiawa Res. is located in the middle of the island of Oahu (Honolulu). There are some smallmouth bass in a few of the small streams, but it's difficult fishing. Oh, there is saltwater. Kauai is the only other island with freshwater fishing… but it's pretty much all on private property. On the positive side… the peacock bass fishing is great.
Do you guys also name all the locations (secret spots) in your lakes, or is that just a Hawaii thing?
very envious Stan... Peacock Bass is on my bucket list. how is the bluegill fishing there?
Bluegill fishing is coming back… Sulvenia Molesta weeds closed the lake about 9 years ago and it has just started getting back to normal. The peacock bass and red devil fishing has never been better. If the red devils would hit a popping bug, that 's all I'd fish for. LOL The peacock bass average around 2 pounds with a 3 or 4 pounder not that uncommon. We fish for them with ultra light spinning tackle and 4# test line. Also 4wt or 5wt fly rods… and of course, the Tenkara rods. You get a 2 pound peacock on 4# test line and you have your hands full.
Hey STEVE I fish mostly southern half of Wisconsin, Delavan, Lake Geneva, Madison Chain and have cabin by Castle Rock and Petenwell lakes Lot of summer fishing and lots of ice fishen ! Also sneek over to Winnebago a couple times of the year !
Hey Steve, I live in West Tennessee and fish mostly in the northern half. Reelfoot Lake and the associated watershed lakes to my Northwest and Kentucky Lake and Tennessee River to the East. I more often fish the smaller state run lakes dotted around West Tn. The closest one Is Gibson County Lake, I can be on this one in less than 30 mins. I also have a few ponds close by for short quick outings. Nice post.
