Do you love big bluegill?
Broke my 9ft 5wt fly rod, so now it's time to upgrade. I'd like something shorter, and maybe a lighter action. And i'll probably buy a rod/reel combo i think.
3wt, 4wt, or another 5wt?

reddington has a 3wt 7 or 7.5 for about $100, never used them but ive heard alot of good things.
T F O -------> very good quality rod for the price
I checked out a reddington and it was super nice, but i didn't like the reel that came with it. I've also read up on some TFO's as well, but i ended up getting another Cabelas combo, 8'6" 4wt, and it came with some flies and tools and a rod case and a chest pack.
is there a specific cabelas combo you recomend, i hear alot of good things but the closest one is about 4.5hours away from me.
the one i started with was the cabelas cahill rod reel combo. it goes for like 60 bucks. the reel was okay, but it caught fish and i learned how to fly fish with it so it did it's job. i just got this one http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Rod-Reel-Combos/Fly-Fishing-...|/pc/104793480/c/104762880/sc/105571980/Cabelas-Prestige174-Fly-Fishing-Outfits/732372.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffishing-rod-reel-combos-fly-fishing-rod-reel-combos%2F_%2FN-1104843%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_105571980%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104762880&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104762880%3Bcat105571980 and it's seems pretty nice. about to go break it in in a few minutes
I've been pondering buying (Ebay) one of the Chinese made bamboo rods made by rod maker Shu. I have read quite a lot on the internet, reviews, etc, and for the price they are selling for, I am not afraid to invest in one. So far I can't find any real negative comments on the experts online that have tried it, Mostly cosmetic flaws and minor stuff.
I sure can't afford the alternative homegrown bamboos everyone is familiar with. For once inmy life I am going to break down try a bamboo rod. Let the record show that I am not at all affiliated with Shu and not recommending his rods, just that I am going to roll the dice and try one.
There is some nice cheap combo's from Cabela's and BPS. some between $60-$130.
