Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

What size gills are too small to keep and fillet? In other words, worth the effort. I've been shore wading for them and can't get them over 6 inches.

Opinions are appreciated.

6in would be my smallest .I think the best eating size is 7 to 8 in

I clean alot 6 to 8 inch gills but I also like smaller fish from time to time........I will sometimes clean a hundred or more fish in the 4 to 5 inch class for a tasty treat........but most of the folks I know would not be patient enough to clean smaller fish in those numbers........

When i do it , 7.5-8.5" .
