Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Fished derby Pond in Woodside, De. last Wed. I had a great day with 6 species of fish. Crappie dominated the score with almost 30 fish to 13", followed by about 25 gills to 9" +, 10 Bass to 2 lbs., as well a 6 Yellow Perch, 1 White perch and may be 8 large Mill Roaches (up to a foot long). Action was constant as I explored the lake for the first time. My standard go to rig is a 1/16 and 1/32 oz jig inder a foam popping bobber tipped with a Gulp Alive 1" Minnow.

It was my first outing this year after gall Bladder surgery a couple of weeks ago. I'm looking forward to my next trip! Perhaps tomorrow.

Sounds like a great day Ron......What color Gulp Minnow were you using?

Jeffrey,

I had Emerald Shiner and Chartruese on board. Both produced, but it was a bright sunny day and I felt as if the Chartruese did better.

Thanks, I keep both of these on my boat and the Chartreuse Shad has been dominant in the tidal waters I fish....Good luck and glad you're back on the water!

Glad your surgery healed so quickly. Hey Ron glad to hear your outing was a success sounds like you caught a few different species of fish makes it all and all a good day. GOOD FISHIN....

Dick,

I was lucky. The Dr.'s were able to get it out lapriscopically. It had been so long since I had fished that I was going through withdrawl. Thank goodness that the fish gods smiled upon me. I'm hoping to try another new pond tomorrow. Hpefully, it too will be productive.

Ron sounds like you got some catching up to do good luck.
