1 lb braid on an UL rod rated for 2-6 lb line?

I really have been wanting to try 1 lb line for bluegills....Make it more of a challenge, you know?  Anyway, I've been considering ordering some 1 lb Berkley Microice line, which has the diameter of 1/4 pound test mono (so it's probably the thinnest line you could possibly every use)

I'm just wondering, my UL rod is rated for 2-6 lb line.  Will anything bad happen if I use line this light?  Will it not cast right or something? 

Also, has anyone used this 1 lb braid before?  Is it tough enough that it won't snap constantly (considering I'm just fishing for bluegills, not bass or anything lol)
