Allen -the water has been low there but one chute is open releasing cooler oxygenated water from the lake .

Mark-The Flyrod is a homemade a friend   gave me. It's a 2 piece  8' made from a Fenwick High Modulus Graphite Blank.I've had it since perhaps the earl 90's.Using it on small streams and Bluegill Popping from shore on lakes. It's paired with a Cabelas GR 5/6 weight reel.

Tailraces are good fishing!  Depending on how the water is released, the temperature of that water is more stable than in a stream, so fish use tailraces as a thermal refuge.  Also, the bubbling from water mixing provides aeration, and better dissolved oxygen content.

Hi John I have caught large mouth, small mouth red brested sunfish . there is trout and also striped  bass and atlantic salmon ,lamprey eel, reg eels I see a guy pulling traps for eels he showed me a wire trap1/2 full and said this is why I don't swim in the river.the shad and alewives Striped bass and the atlantic salmon are below the dam in topsham, but they can get up the fish way.the state relocates alewives and some other fish due to dams up river

How many species have you seen ,Mark? This tail race section I fish has the most species in any one spot I've fished .It's Amazing! I gotta find more tail races .They really turn on late Summer !
