20150527-WIXOM LAKE~ FISHING FOR GILLS... I CANT HELP IT!

I love my 8' Spinmatic (so much so that I bought a 2nd as a backup - just in case..)  Lately, while going for panfish, I've been getting quite a few channel cats using 2" curly-tail grubs.  Biggest was ~26-28".  He put quite a bend in the rod!

wow what a battle that must have been!. biggest ive caught so far was a 4-0# Northern on a tiny Gill jig..

what ive recently been using this rod for is fishing the road bank which is about 4-0ft above the water surface and 4-0ft reach in front on a steep slope. this rod has great reach for lifting over the shoreline cover.
