Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hey y'all, I have the go for yet another new-to-me pond tommorrow that recently produced a 24 inch bass! My hope actually, would be a by-catch of big gills or crappies.

We did manage a number of 16 to 18 inch bass on Friday from a southern PA pond that was redone about 6 trs ago. The bass need to put on more weight, as the picture indicates.

I like dark hairjigs retrieved along the edges of dead and dying weeds and small live gills up until the water drops below 60 F. I'll keep you posted as to what happens!

3" Storm Wild Eyed Shad swimbaits are catching bass in the shallows by loose rock walls on my home lake
Hey John...at Piney Run, savvy anglers are getting excellent 3 to 5 pounders on Fat Free Shad deep running crankbaits over the tops of hydrilla that tops out at about 12 to 14 ft of water. I weighed a bunch of them in the other day.
Well thats better
than my bass score ...thanks Jim

Do chicken gizzards work for bass or just catfish?

We use chicken livers for cats, and get the occasional striped bass on them in freshwater venues. However, I did see one bass, a 3 lber, caught on livers a few years back.
