Do you love big bluegill?
Another Good Day Spoonin'
Hey y'all, I had the chance to run out for a little while after work last night and fish a new pond that I just got permission for. Caught bass, big gills and crappie on a variety of lures and jigs, but had my best luck on a plain blue, 1/8 oz RF spoon on a lift/flutter back in their face technique. Got about 15 small bass, some fine gills to 9 1/2 in and a couple of big crappie, including this 13 1/2 incher...my best crappie on a spoon.
The ponds owner tells me they redug the pond about ten years ago and have not paid too much attention to it...dark water and seems like it has alot of little bass. He did make mention of big crappies in it , however.
Fish struck the spoon hard, and with no bait! Cool!

I fished around the pond a bit but caught some fish, including the big crappie, off of the dock.
