Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

OKAY GUYS, I KNOW IT'S GONNA BE A LONG, COLD WINTER, AND NOT ALL OF US ARE GOING TO BE ON THE HARDWATER.

So... with that in mind, let's hear what you all plan to do, nationwide, to get the fix you need to put some fish in the boat, on the bank or in the pan. John Sheehan digs pickerel, some do blue cats. Tell us...FROM BLUEGILLS TO PERCH TO CARP...

WHAT'S YOUR FISHING GAMEPLAN LIKELY TO LOOK LIKE?

Hope to catch thru the ice this year Jim ,and visit at least these few lakes and either catch and/or learn . Shepherds ;Pickerel ,LM Bass , Bluegill, Crappie , Trout ...Waywayanda ;the same including Perch , Monksville Reservoir ;Walleye, Perch...Vernon Valley Lake  ;Pickerel ,LM Bass , Bluegill, Crappie , Perch ...Cupsaw Lake ;Pickerel ,LM Bass , Bluegill, Crappie ,White and Yellow Perch .

Maybe I'll try some River fishing and target some Red Breasted Sunfish . Putting on the  waders and fishing for them Dec thru March would be real nice !

Never caught a Walleye thru the ice so some tips from you guys that have would be much appreciated .

What are your plans Jim? Oh, add Greenwood Lake to that list of mine ;Walleye hopefully ,as well as Perch, Gills and Crappie .

I'll get back with you...it's quite a list...depending on the severity of the winter.

You always do real well ,look forward to your reports!

I'm open to ideas.
I've never had any winter luck from the bank and the boat is off limits.
I hope to hear some good stuff.

How about Rivers near you  David?

.5-.75 hour drive...

What species ?

Cats, panfish, bass, all the usual Dixie Suspects.
There are some planted trout about an hour away.

My problem is really one of transport. Won't be getting something newer til next spring, and the truck is running rough.

Hang tough David .I see lots of great looking lure and Fly creations in your future!

Hangin tough - it's all I got!

You could write a song with that

Pretty sure someone already did....Ugh!!
