Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The responses to my last post were awesome. Now I'm wondering what line you all use for wet flies? Floating with a strike indicator? Sinking with a weighted nymph? Those are just a couple of options, so what do you use?

Depends on the depth I'm fishing. Anything less than half my leader length in depth I use floating line. When fishing deeper I like a sinking line. The reason is that when using a floating line with a sinking fly a big bend in the line forms when the fly is allowed to sink too deep, which results in too much line to straighten when setting the hook. This results in more missed fish in my experience.
Just my $.02
That makes alot of sense. This has been my biggest question because I usually start in shallow water and gradually move to deeper. I have not had much success fishing deeper with a floating line because of presentation problems (from what I can tell). It seems as though I can set the hook fairly easily but I lose direct control of the fly when the leader gets that big bend in it.
