Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The Complete Bad Angler by Philip Storey. It's a compilation of short articles from Angling Times a British fishing magazine. They are funny and self deprecating. I like the descriptions of the tackle and different fish Brits fish for, chubs, roaches and barbels. It's a free Kindle download.
What are some other good fishing books?

There are many fish, fishing books and fishing literature out there. Many are free. The older stuff is especially interesting. Just read Hemingway--the old man and the sea in one sitting. Very cool is Fish Stories by Henry Abbott written in 1919. Short easy read for anyone who fishes and observes nature. For you ice guys, Dave Genz ice fishing revolution is a must. Fishin' Jimmy by Annie Trumbull Slosson is a religious experience. I can also recommend big bass magic by the late Doug Hannon. If you like trout and salmon, check out authors John D Voelker or John Wilshaw. Look for title Armchair Angler---has many shorts. Another classic is Tales of the Fish patrol by Jack London in 1905. Just read a little fish related sci-fi this morning called Gone Fishing by James H Schmitz. A awesome old time cook book---how to cook fish by Myrtle Reed. Have you read Lunkers love Nightcrawlers? There is so much out there. I know the compleat angler is a tough read, but stick with, maybe a little at a time. Any fish read is time well spent.
The Determined Angler and the Brook Trout by Charles Baker Bradford is free Kindle download. It's a good book if you like fly fishing. Try Zane Grey's books on fishing.
Just finished fishing and shooting sketches. Very enjoyable. Love his accounting of the smallmouth bass. Thanks for that suggestion. Also read fishing with a worm---kinda typical fly vs bait essay but with respect to both sides.
If you want a view skewed toward the fly fisherman read The Determined Angler and the Brook Trout. It is full of great quotes and references the other fishing related literature but the beating the bait fisherman takes is hard to stomach.
Just finished Fly Fishing in Wonderland by Klahowya a good book about fishing in the Yellowstone Park area. It's seems to be about the place and the fish more than the fisherman. Very descriptive. There is a free Kindle version.
