Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I'm starting a tin tackle box to carry cane pole fishing. I started with making some fitted spools. I need suggestions for containers for hooks, weights and other possibles. I don't want everything loose inside . The wider spool is cedar the other is oak.

For cane polin'?

#8 and #10 Aberdeen hooks.
BB split shot
Small pencil or jelly bean floats.
Briminator, Wooly Bugger and soft hackle flies.
Hooks and weights I know. Thanks-for the info on flies. How to store it to keep organized is the killer. I looked through some my junk and came up with a few things that might work.

Those are all good. A chunk of foam, either loose or glued in, can also help manage hooks.
Decided on the fuse boxes. Can fit 4 of them easily. Got all this in with room left in all the boxes. Customized the float, flat body on a corn dog stick. Eyehole is through the stick so no added length. Back up cork float. I will use foam to keep the rattle to a minimum, Thanks.

Your winders are amazing. It's impossible to find any in the United States. What are you using for a clip to hold the rig

I have a little slot cut in one of them. I didn't have any thing to go by only saw a few pictures of them. How do they usually work? I'm using the mainly to store line.

Exactly.

You pre-rig a winder with the proper length of line, hook, shot etc. so it becomes a ready rig. Keep the extra items in the box and there you go.

Just finish the pole end of the line with a small loop and the rig would attach via a  loop to loop connection to the end of the pole. The cut in your winder will hold the loop tag end.

Nice.....

How long would a traditional winder be? Be careful about using the word winder to southern boy he try to look through it to see out side.
Funny!
I don't know if there is a "traditional" length - whatever is practical.
I've got some plastic ones that are 7"
