Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I'm setting here at the house plotting and scheeming, on a cold and wet weekend, the only ice fishing we do down here in the south is walking over to the freezer and getting out a bag of frozen filets out which I caught last summer. They taste good but it's not the same as fresh fish so I looking at the calender and planning my fishing trips this year,so far I'm planning to hit the same ole oxbows that produce for me year after year, got to refill the freezer you know, but I always try to find at least one new spot every year. This year I'm planning to go back to the Buffalo River and meet old friends from Houston , Texas June the 8th, that just happends to be Free Fishing weekend in Arkansas, you dont need a license or trout stamps to fish in Arkansas that weekend,  and while I'm in the area I'm going to spend a day or two at Bull Shoals Lake,so what I'm asking is what is going to be your favorite destination to go catch big bluegill this year, you never know  I might want to join you .    LOFR

It looks like I'll spend most of the year in the Carolinas and Virginia......but things are in the works to host several members to a few days in the Albemarle/Pamlico Estuary.......I love catching gills and go alone often but I'm looking forward to sharing some time on the water with friends of Bigbluegill.com.........I'll probably visit southern Louisiana later in the Fall....back where it all started......Enjoy your season LOFR
