Taken 10" 'gills and 15" Crappies & Perch through the ice with it all the time without problems. 8" - 10"+ 'gills all summer without any problems as well. Have caught/landed a 20" Largemouth on a #20 jig through the ice with it. Proper rod, line and ability to read/play a fish and it's all one really needs
Yeah that sounds about right i would definitely have to adjust to playing the fish more, thanks for the reply cobra, and keep up the good work!
All we use in SoCal - mostly Yo-Zuri 2lb Hybrid. This year we have three 10 year olds and a 5 year old catching 10" + BGs & REs using 2lb, jigs, and crickets. One of the kids caught a 9lb 14oz Channel on 2lb. and I managed a 2.25lb BG this season. We stick a lot of bass, too, but we don't count them....
Thanks for the info ledhed, It'll help me get over my phobia of line weight thats less than      4lb's!
I love fishing 2 lb test, but the majority of bluegill I catch are around cover and 2 lb test is too risky.  I generally use 4 lb test for almost every application.
Thats the issue i have at my favorite spot, i feel that its just too much rocky structure and forage for the BG's to get tangled in which makes it really risky
