Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

My nephew and I hit my regular fishing hole again today!!! After my 110 fish day yesterday I was afraid the bite might be slow. Guess again, 60 bluegills, 5 crappie and 5 LM bass for my in little over 4 hrs.  My nephew had 35 bluegills, 6 crappies and 4 LM bass. To bad the skies opened up and we got drenched to the skin!!!

Tackle for me today, 2 G Loomis TSR801-1 ultra lights Daiwa Exist native custom 1003H reels, 4lb Berkley Crystal Fireline, 4 ft leader of 6lb vanish. G. Loomis TSR802-2 and TR862-2 same reel and line as the ultra light combos.  My nephews combos were a pair of G. Loomis SR782-2 GL2 light action rods matched to his favorite Shimano Stradic 1000FI reels same line and leader as my combos. He also fished his favorite power noodle. A 6'6" Shimano Compre Ultra light matched to a Shimano Symetre 750. Power Grubs, Slider Grubs and size 01 countdown Rapala's Were the lures of choice.

Nice post, this rain we are getting in Alabama is a real needed blessing. It's been so blazing hot and bad dry. Maybe this will bring on the fall and the fall bite. I'm ready for some Crappie and some alergy relief.....
Outstanding fishing!
