Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I really enjoy any type of fishing. Outdoors with all the stresses of life that can drag you down, can just disappear with one fish. It's truely a blessing. I come from a family that brought me up to really enjoy large trophy catfishing on the Mississippi River and other large lakes/rivers. Then later in life I started the fetish with going after those LMB, tackle boxes packed full of lures even though I normally only used my three to five favorites. Now I've got my eyes on the excitement of pan fishing. Getting use to small rods with light line was really tough for me. I felt like every hook set my line might pop. Fly fishing is fun, but a challenge which I'm catching on quickly. Right now I'm focusing on Hybrid bluegill and coppernose bluegills. Still love fishing for all specis, but odd how I've gone from some of the largest freshwater fish to the smallest

Jim I may have to steal your saying. Ha. Those blue cats have some great flesh flavors, super white fillets compared to the yellowish of older channel cats.

Nice overview of your love for the sport.

I too love to catch fish of all species from panfish to bass to carp and blue cats. I always tell everybody that my favorite fish is...the next one I catch!
