Do you love big bluegill?
Assuming I still have a few minutes to fish an old reliable soft plastic or a new innovative jig......I have to have a place to document my results and catch it here first..........

The gills today wanted smaller baits and my favorite 1" soft plastics were getting crushed today.....catching 35 of the total 52 gills........The most productive today was a 1/64th ounce ball jig in pink with a # 8 Bro Bug Gummy colored bloodworm fished "wacky worm" style and tipped with a live cricket........this combination accounted for 23 nice gills.......I also encourage folks to look at the new line of "impulse' baits from Northland Fishing.....I like and had success today on the tadpole and mini smelt, both 1" size......
Here's how I fished the Bloodworm......
These gills were deep but hitting a little harder than earlier in the winter....I suspended these baits under a quill float for easier strike detection.......
Today's gills were in their winter white....
Lots of 8 to 9 inch class gills today.....
Quality fish and great numbers are why I love this region......It's very early but they didn't disappoint.....And as for the pink color.......you could fish it everyday here and do great......it's that good here.....
