Do you love big bluegill?
Howdy Y'all
Another early morning and a trip to Norfork.
Well the boys seem to have move shallow between 3' and 5' and close to shore by the looks of their tails they have been busy makin homes for the ladies.
We were still using the bobber and worm mix so no change there.
Caught a nice pair of Longear peckerfish about 3" long and hooked them up wightless and 3' of line under a bobber and tossed them out for the prowling bass or cats. Had one cat roll on one but didn't pick up the bait.
Stayed out till 1100 the wind died and the temp was up to high 80's.
We cam home with 5 BG's all males top 2 were 9" one a good 1/2 lb the other just under a 1/2 lb.
the other three were 8"s All were dark in spawing colors and had full testes.
After being in the cooler together only the bigest BG was still in Full colors the others had paled down to be less threatning. Real good point that fish and land game hold dominance as a prime factor. With showing submission to the big bull.
Still working with the heat but trying to find the cool mornings or later aftenoons early evenings.
As always enjoy fishing and the time with each other.
Yours in service
James and Kathy
