Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Another early 0600 morning 68° trip to Lake Norfork

Howdy Y'all

Well off we went to try our luck again.

We had a few bites and one Redear keeper 7 1/2" but did not catch any buddies to go with him/her so tossed him/her back to the lake gods for better luck next time.

We had one catfish rig out in the cove we were working.

The wife went to check it as we were going to leave in a few minuets and found the bobber under.

Well I was too far away and as she reeled in the cat and went to net it it shook it's head and popped the 10 lb test and left with my hook, sinker and snap and 4' of line, another oh so close dang.

Used the Catfish bait recipe:

Hotdogs cut into 1" chuncks

1 pack Strawberry Kool-aid

1 clove minced garlic

water to cover

let marinate for at least 2 days (the longer the better/worst it smells)

We just set it out about 15' out and 4' down and just let it sit. we didn't even check it untill we were ready to leave at 1000.

So off to Wally World we go for heavier line and more treble hooks.

Well no fishies for today and no kitties.

Off again later this week and hope for better days.

Yours in service

James and Kathy
