Sharon, I do catch willow tree branches in the spring .I notice the Bluegill and Crappie relate in early spring to blowdowns that reach lake bottom. Nothing like willow tree branches on 4lb test!

You could cut some tree branches and throw them in the pond to catch. I get a lot of those, big ones too.

Weeds are starting to die off up here already! I din't have much luck this summer...stupid fish kept getting in the way! Maybe next summer...I make the cover!

You can buy artificial weeds at the fish station of Walmart. Made in China, complete with toxins, probably

FYI - I have not one weed in my 1/3 acre pond, but I do have about 12 turtles. They eat some of the fish food, and sometimes snag my line, but they do eat the weeds, I think. Don't know what else could be eating them. So, all of you who are vegans, better move those turtles or you will have no dinner.
