Check out the Bassers group and working a worm over the tops of matted weeds.

Really! The bad thing was that this was my 1 acre pond. You could not work texas rigged worms or topwater rebel lures without getting hooked in weeds. Hopefully we can get rid of them next year. $200 to just kill them from the roots!

In July I deep dive crank bait weeds with 12 lb test at least.

They are tricky and they grow fast as kudzu in july!

This past summer I have caught many fish but so much of weeds broke my 8 pound test lost dozen of lures in. But you can always say you never got skunked. I just told people that the big one got away.

This is what I caught today. All very small. Put them back:


And then just before quitting time I caught something really special big enough to keep:


Caught with a #8 red circle hook. It's hickory too, good for switchings.

The best thing about weedfishing ,besides its possibility as a huge economic gold mine guide service, is I never get skunked.I can always find weeds even through the ice.Gotta admit those darn sandy /gravelly spawning areas stump me though.I don't bother .Too many fish!

John, the weeds are about gone til next year. Just a few small one hitting. Will work on my assignment in earnest next year
