It was a terrific fighter, held onto the bottom of the pond like it had suckers on those branches, but I got it. Everyone please throw a line out in honor of my poor dead reel.

In Weeds Magazine Exclusive : " BIG WEED GETS AWAY ,DESTROYS REEL'.... 8"Bluegill Sharon, owner of the reel is too upset to comment at the moment .In time we hope to get the full story of how a world class weed or was it a trophy stick ? ,mangled the reel.

Comment by John Sheehan on January 21, 2012 at 10:31am: Ice Fisherman dont despair!!, weeds can be caught through the ice .Granted it's a sad time for us when healthy green weeds die off in late fall but ice weeds are a great find and will even hold incidental catches of Fish . Please show off your weed pics here and the In Weeds Magazine staff will be happy to make astute comments !
