Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I finally got a chance to get out of work and the house last weekend. My daughter wanted to go to a local Church camp, but I talked her into going to the Sportman's club that also has a lake. Maybe we should have went to the camp for a picnic and fishing!

It was a nice warm Saturday down here in St Clair County, but the wind was picking up and a storm front was on it's way in. I should have known, not a good day to fish, but hey, I really needed to practice my casting and so did my son.

We ate a late lunch and trudged around the lake. I noticed a lot of other folks out fishing also, but none of them seemed to be pulling anything in. It appeared they were Bass fishing. EWWWW! Adam and I were looking for Bream. I think we can manage to get out again in a couple of weeks and try a different lake!

Even though we didn't even have the first bite--he caught a pine cone and I caught a stick! It was still a nice day to get out and spend time with the kids away from phones, TV and computers!

Know how you feel Christine. I had that same kind of day last Saturday. Weather turned colder and the lake at the state park I went to was the color of chocolate milk. Did not see anybody catch a fish. But it was still a good day to get out in the 'toon and paddle around. Also knocked some of the rust off the fly fishing arm. Raining this weekend and cold. Sooooon.....the weather will be better.

I've had plenty of days like that! :-)

One day I caught a hat and a shoe. My Dad said "So, are you going for the wardrobe trifecta?"
