Do you love big bluegill?
I was thinking maybe if I got my wife an electric reel I can get her fishing again and that would be to my benefit maybe I can fish more than once or twice a year cause she'll be with me. The one's I seen through the internet look big and heavy. I need small and light. I know she loves to fish maybe this will be the ticket so she can enjoy it once again. I know I will have to order it because I've never seen them in any sporting goods store and I know there not cheep so I really need to shop around. Any info will be great and maybe a step closer to her fishing again.

You're a helluva husband, Dick. I'd call you heroic - God is gonna bless you, sir.
I wish I had some ideas for a reel....
My wife had a stoke 3 years ago. She has lost the function of her left side. She is totally disabled and only having the right side she would not be able to hold the rod and reel at the same time. She loved to fish we were planning on fishing heavy after retirement. She didn't make it she had her stroke. She tries so hard not to let it get her down and I can tell you she is a strong willed woman and has not quit the fight. Anyway I'm fishing for ideas to get her out fishing again even if I have to cast her line out for her.
Dick, This is about the same price but looks like for a samller reel

Would I be out of line to assume she has some disability? Im just wondering what it is about reels that prevents her from fishing with you....
A reel that might help is an automatic fly reel. They're not really automatic, of course; more like a clock spring wound to retract line. But paired with the right line/leader combination, I don't see why you couldnt match them to a spinning rod.
200.00 on up. But the reels that I seen were for heavy fish. I would like to get something for pan fish like Gills and Crappies even perch.
Dick, Sounds like a great cause I will start looking!!! I never heard of an electric reel!!!
What prices have you found so far?
