Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Another great fishing trip stop by a backwater in Alburg this evening because I thought there should have been Seeds there. I Did not catch a seed but I did catch a few perch 2 bullheads and a Northren. I caught that northren with a 41/2 foot ST Croix ultra light rod with 4 pound test line. I still think this area should house some seeds , This fish went after a pearch that Iwas reeling in . I did not have a landing net with me

One of the things I love about fishing is the surprises. I got our on Lake Hopatcong in Jersey last Tusday - heat wave to 92, big, big southwest wind, and fishing the usual spots without success due to wind, and resulting poor bobber control. After identifying the leewward side of an island, near some depth, and lcose to last year's June 'gill beds, I caught a pike, 2 bass, a jumbo perch, a huge crappie, two decent rock bass, and about 6 bull bluegills, and a few smaller ones. St Croix spinning, light - 4 lb seaguar florucarbon leader, with 6 lb suffix braid.
I also saw a mink working the shore, a bald eagle flying over, and an osprey. ALl iin all, it was a great day fishing.
Now its cold, wet and grey again.
