Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

So Castman7 (my brother) and I decided to go big bluegill hunting this evening. It started raining but we didn't stop....I'm glad. We caught several gills close to a pound before he caught the biggest bluegill that I've seen with my own eyes. I tried several jigs with no luck. I caught a few with a Gulp! cricket and Gulp! minnow. Then he says he's got a good one. After at least a minute or two of fighting this fish with a light action combo he pulls this 12" hog out of the water. At several ounces over a pound this fish amazed me. He says he's caught bigger so he released her. The pics don't do the fish justice because he's such a big guy. He's 290 and 6'3". Huge hands. This fish was tall, long and thick! I've caught a lot of gills and nice gills at that but nothing this impressive yet.
