Do you love big bluegill?
Howdy Y’all
Rain or shine snow or sleet (yea right not with the wife she hates the cold) we’ll fish for gills and cats like good little fishermen and women.
Well it stared as overcast and no wind so off we went to the twin coves to search for gills and cats.
The left over of Hermine had pushed a storm front into North Arkansas so we figured to beat the storm after watching the radar at home.
When we arrived at the coves we set out our cat rigs and started working the gill poles when it started to drizzle lightly with still no wind so no problem.
The bite was dead not even peckerfish the cloud cover thickened up and the breeze picked up.
As the time rolled by and still no hits we packed up to move to the rip rap cove up the way.
Still raining but picking up with wind to match.
Put on our bobber lights (see image lightrigj) and stated working the rip rap and the flats.
A few peckerfish and a hard hit or two, but then the rain picked up and the wind also BRRRRR!!!
The little women was ready to leave and I was right behind her, I fish in shorts and T-shirt with honyockers for the terrain.
Well it was a fishless night and a cold one to boot.
We packed up and before we left the parking area it poured, good timing.
Well more fish later on another trip.
Yours in service
James and Kathy
