Frank, You inquired as to where you might find large gills in your area.
Look no further than your local fisheries bioligest. I think they are on a state level and should have an area office in your general area. They will know the location and size of the gills in your area. Mike

Frank I live in GrandRapids do you live Alger county if so some of the lakes in west end of UP like Cooked lake or Cisco or Thousand Island lake have some nice slabes in those lake I know I fished them all.
