What type of animal is a bluegill?
No
Funny thing about the hybrid (will download pics in next couple days) it was caught at a pond on a golf course near a huge metropolitan airport. My brother manages the course and lets me in to fish the ponds early and late, absolutely no one else fishes these ponds. It is somewhat surreal to have huge 767's buzzing overhead and catching .75-1.25 lb gills on a fairly regular basis.

Welcome to Big Bluegill, Dave!

It's exciting to see that you've nailed some really big bluegill and redears. We'd love to see a photo or two when you get a chance.
