We all develop favorites over the years Andy.....color does matter in tannic water in my opinion but all I have is proven testimony as evidence.....although I don't feel it's as critical as sizing down in cold water........many of the soft plastics I use are infused with scent and I try hard to match available forage in a particular body of water.....I fish larger gear than most anglers..........., both line and baits.

How much do you think the factors of color, texture/feel and motion weigh in relative to each other? I picked up one of the little grub kits one time with just about every imaginable color and I hardly ever use them because the tails are not nearly as responsive as on the Berkeley jigging grubs I have, plus they aren't quite as soft feeling.
