Yea, same fish that is kept in aquariums or at least the same family. They are native to south Texas. My friend told me about them as he has been into aquariums for years. They pull good and taste just as good.

yeah i remember there was a pond out there my dad use to take me to when i was little they had some cichlids in it and bass. i cant remember where it was cause i was only 5 or 6

You talking about West End by Lake Pontchartain, near the marina's? If so, I don't remember any ponds there, only the 17th street canal.
