Mike, I've never eaten one. I may try it someday. I use light spinning tackle basically all the time, unless I'm targeting the big whiskered fish, or something similar.

yup, theyre alot of fun on appropriate tackle but they get over powered on heavier bass tackle. I like to use a ml spinning rod with inline spinner for them. they taste really good too if you can get all the bones out, really sweet.

Yea, they'll hit anything a bass will hit from what I understand. Very underrated gamefish in my opinion!

nice one. we catch alot of them up when bass fishing, they really get in the way of that, destroy soft plastics and cut line, plus they love getting both trebles on a crankbait buried down their throat.
