Do you love big bluegill?
Both of these incredible fish took an Orange Tabbert Jelly Jig tipped with a large wax worm..........We've had good trips in recent years but today was our best trip for quality gills.............

JOE;; FISHING WITH JEFFERY;; THE DYNAMIC DUEO !! CONGRATS ON A GREAT CATCH JOE !
Jeff, it looks like you've really been in the fish for awhile now! Keep up the catching!
Indeed.......just last month a lady crappie fishing at a local marina on the same river caught a bluegill just over 11" that hit two pounds.......but the amazing thing was the girth.............a huge bulging chest................she was very excited but was applauded for releasing her dream catch..........
1.3 pounds is way, way light for a 12" bluegill, as Tony noted...
Understand Tony......forage seems very abundant but I'm sure our numbers have grown since 2003..........these larger males today were impressive but weren't thick like a two pound class gill gets...........
Congrats on the PB, Joe!!
Jeffrey, just an observation here, but a 12" bluegill from non-fed water should be all over the two pound mark. I read where you mentioned it's been awhile since the last fishkill, please keep an eye on the length/weight ratio of these fish? I'm curious if their weight might be declining due to lack of forage vs. increased population, or if something else is at work.
I hear you screaming friend........keep fishing and it will happen!
