Do you love big bluegill?
One of the bugs Rick King sent me to try....It caught 21 gills, 6 Crappie and 1 small yellow perch on today's trip.....

They were sharp little hooks for sure but I like a little more hook when all those apex predators wake up and take their turn......The combination of just a ten foot pole today and the # 12 hook made several of the Crappie interesting but that's part of the fun with it all......
Yup Rick did tie em on #12's and rest assured I told him about the #10's and am sending him some of those hooks tomorrow buddy.........
That olive and peach combo looks really good! Amazing how those sharp little hooks hold so well, isn't it? All those bead heads you tied look good,Rick.
Let me assure you in my water it's the right way to go.......I was catching slab Crappie today on this bait and very nervous picking them up but 5 of the 6 stayed hooked into the boat and the other dropped off when I got him in the boat....I think the hook is a # 12
Ya know Jeffrey like many things you've made me change my mind on I'm beginning to understand your idea on using heavier line in cover. I really can't wait to get down there and try out that method of long rods for these in cover. I NNNNNNNNNNever would have gone to size 10's let alone 8's etc. on the bugs and now can't wait to try em my self during peak times for gills and red ears........
Fishing with this technique helps me fish tight to/in heavy cover also.....the tipping acts to make it weedless........
Rick looks like you got a winner here from Sir Jeffrey....
