Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

These smaller species were more aggressive than many of the larger fish but I guess that's nature's way in the fish kingdom.......

I like them.....they are pesky little determined fish...they generally seem smaller than five inches in many places around the Albemarle Estuary but occasionally we'll see bigger ones.....

Y'know...any seed over 8 inches long is just a stunning and noteworthy catch. They tend to be heavier for their length than most of the bluegills I catch. Great little fish!

Seeds' do well in colder water. They're sometimes referred to as the redear of the north.

I'm always surprised to see these guys when you're catching much larger gills consistently as well John...they always seem to make it though....tough little fish.......
